New Cuteness at InStyle Stamps

We are so excited with all the new happenings at ISS we couldn't contain ourselves any longer. Guess what? We're going to CHA! That's right, we are now ready to officially launch InStyle Stamps to the rest of the world. Isn't that awesome news?

And to make things a little more fun, we decided to release 4 new rubber sets. Yes, ISS will now have sets of our wonderful images! Not only will we have anime, but we are introducing a new line as well. Let's meet them shall we? Oh, and did I mention we have new packaging too????

I'm so glad this week is moving for me. Last week just went on and on. Normally I'm excited for certain days of the week, like tonight is my season finale of Flipping Out and Glee. Tomorrow I have my Just Desserts! And Thursday I have Grey's Anatomy AND Housewives of Beverly Hills premiere. Yeah I'm a fun one right? ROFLOL.

Costa Rica

I had a good vacay in Costa Rica with my cousin and her friend. It was the first time I'd ever gone out of the country without my hubby. I'm glad we had a blast.

While Costa Rica wasn't what I expected, it's still beautiful none-the-less. I say that because I've been to the Carribean and the water is OMG gorgeous. I was expecting the same because each picture I saw showed something similar and even the travel agent said it was crystal clear. I should have really known better considering it's on the Pacific ocean side lol. Now there is a Carribean side with clearer water. It's nothing like say St. John's.

Anywho, here are some pics.

This is the boardwalk at the resort. We were in Puntarenas.

Big Guy right? He was a guest at the resort we stayed at. There were a lot of iguana's.

And here's a close up. He wanted to eat me I think. :)

And here is the mangrove we toured. It happened to be the best swimming spot. Why?

Because of these. This crocodile was HUGE! There were a bunch of them. So the spot was pretty empty lol.

And here is a bee. Beautiful I think.

And this is Jurassic Park. Creepy right?

And how about having this outside your door? He was ugly.

One of the swim up bars at the resort. We had a total of 5 pools. Beautiful

And some floral beauties.

Of course there were tons more photos. But I'm too lazy to go through them all. So those are just some highlights lol. Have a great Sunday.

What to do?

It's Saturday, and I'm all alone. Well my mom and Jade are around. But my best friend-My hubby- is off for his monthly weekend with the Marine Corps. I miss him when he is gone. He is my road dog lol.

So I'm trying to figure out what to do for this weekend. He won't be home until Tuesday. That is a long time.

So I thought I'd post some pictures of his trip to Africa last month. I will post some of my Costa Rica vacation tomorrow. Enjoy!

He went to Ghana on this trip. This is my husband Armando at a dam there.

Here he is on a rope bridge. He actually has a few pics of him hanging on a vine from the side.

That's a male lizard of some sort. You can tell the gender by the color of the head and tail. He threw it a peanut to get its attention. Looks like it has a scuba suit on...very smooth looking.

And here he is with some local kids. They loved him as you can see. He's the first one sitting down with all the kids on his head. :)

Friday, Finally!

Hubby is leaving til Tuesday. I hate when he leaves. I miss him terribly. I think it is because he just got back from a 3 week trip and in the beginning of summer he was gone for another week. I'm just being a baby lol.

It's hump day! Just a few more days til the weekend. I'm not looking forward to it. Starting packing already and I'm wiped out. I hate moving!

Anywho, who likes shoes? I do! But I love purses more. :) My cousin though LOVES all kinds of shoes, especially wedges. How great is this Wedge image? It's only $2.00 too. That is cheap! The sentiment says, "I Miss Shoe!"

I used May Arts ribbon to make the straps. I then used my cuttlebug to emboss the base of the shoe and added some crystals and glossy accents. It's girly I think, without the typical girly colors.

Hope you are having a great Tuesday so far. My husband got back from Africa on Sunday and we decided to spend a few days down in San Diego. I was so glad to see him.

This next week is going to be extremely crazy. We are moving and we have to pack up the house. He was gone for most of August and I decided to wait for him to get back lol.

All this change in my life has got me thinking about those special people in my life. I'm veery blessed to be surrounded by some special relationships.

Release Day!

I hope you enjoyed our sneaks this week. Today is the big day for the release! We are also showing off Ellie and Hanna!

Up first are these delish red velvet cupcakes Jade and I made. We then got large tooth picks (not sure what they are called) and added Ellie in grey and purple. We decided to give all the little girls in our family under the age of 3 their own name tag. How cute is that?

Next Up is our sweet little Hanna. She is adorable. I decided to make a little baby book. I pulled out my handy dandy bind it all and decorated a few inside pages. Hanna is ready to show off photo's!

And lastly, another Ellie. I used this Ellie for a welcome baby card. I decided on pink because well most elephants are grey lol.

I finally tried a slide card. Actually Jade and I did it together. She did the coloring and the glitter. I made the card. :) We decided to use both Raining Tilly and Sunshine Tilly.

I couldn't find a stamp or alphas to fit in the space so we decided to hand write it in. I don't like it. Oh well.

Jade got a kick out of putting Glossy Accents on the rain drops. She has been scrapping for a couple of years now with me. And I finally let her use the copics. This was her 5th try and her best so don't scrutinize it too much lol.

This was the first time Jade rolled down the hill. It was hilarious. At first she was scared. But when my hubby showed her how to do it, we couldn't get her to stop. I have about 4 more pages to scrap of that day. We also flew kites and there are also a couple of images of my hubby and Jade rolling down the hill together.

I'm missing my husband. Today I leave for a week without him and it's kinda weird. He won't be home until the 24th of this month. I will miss spending his birthday with him. But he has to work so what am I gonna do? I just told him he is not allowed to go on safari while he is there. :)

Anyway, today I have a birthday card. I made 3 of them. This was an extra. I already gave out the 2 for my friend's. They weren't exactly like this, but basically the same.

I can't believe our design team. They have really pulled together this month and rocked out a bunch of great projects. I have the bestest design team around. They are truly a great bunch of ladies. I appreciate each and everyone of them. Their such an asset!

We have two of our special ladies leaving us this month. Thank you Jodi and Raquel for making our company shine with your designs! We wish you the best of luck in all your future endeavors. And a special hats off to Raquel. She recently graduated from College! That is a milestone! Great job!

And with those 2 spots open, we had to find other designers to fill their shoes. So on Sunday, August 1st, we will announce our new DT members. Take my word for it, these new ladies are gonna rawk your sawks off! Stay tuned.

So on to the blog hop at hand. I bet you were wondering why there isn't a card or project on my blog. That's because the universe is playing mean tricks on me. Why? Well let me vent a little shall I? Ok it all started when I lost my passport. UGHH! I've been looking for it for over a month. I am going out of the country in August and CAN'T find it anywhere. I'm soo upset about it. I normally have a great memory. But...well...yeah, can't find it anywhere. And on top of it, it's with my birth certificate, marriage license and other important papers. Yikes. Well I had to make an emergency appointment to get a new passport. I leave on the 8th and my appt is on the 3rd. Talk about cutting it close lol. I was able to get my other documents replaced already. I'm just upset about paying for another passport. :(

If that is not bad enough, NOW I can't find my battery charger for my camera. And that means I can't take pictures, which means I couldn't photograph my project I worked on a week ago. My replacement is due here any day now, but *SIGh*.

Well after that vent (thanks for listening), I decided why not tilt the universe in a generous way and give away a free DIGI! :) Yay!

InStyle Stamps InSpiration Challenge

We've changed the name folks. Over the Hump Day Blog Candy give-away is just too long. :)

So our challenge is to create a Halloween card. This project I decided to go with non-traditional colors and use and image we already have for sale in the store. His name is Bendy. I love him! The sentiment says Hap-bee Halloween. How cute is that?

Why not participate in our challenge? All you have to do is create a card by. The prize is if you use one of our images, 4 digital images of your choice. If you use another image, you still get 2 digital images of your choice. You have 48 hours to claim the prize!

I'm so not the Halloween type of person. I never did much trick or treating when I was a kid. In fact we always did a harvest party at our church, or trunk o treating in the parking lot. Fun times!

So when the holiday rolls around I try to have images created that are not too graphic in detail. I tend to go with the cutesy side of it. Even though I don't know how cutesy it can be LOL.

I have a friend that is very religious that absolutely LOVES Halloween. In fact, it's her favorite holiday. She goes all out this time of year. I think she is too funny! So this season of images were inspired by her and for her.

InStyle Stamps is doing an release showcase of images every couple of hours from now until July 16th when we cap it all off with a release party on Paper Craft Planet. I hope you join us for the fun!

Hello Peeps,

Hope you are having a marvelous Friday. I'm so excited for this weekend. I've got a lot of fun things planned. And so for this special memorial day weekend, I've decided to go through my stash of rubber stamps that I have had for a while that I don't use at all. Most are Stampin' Up stamps and there are some others in there as well. There are also a couple of those wheel thing-ies lol from SU! too. There are over 90 actually I believe 95 to be exact of sentiments and other stamp love. They are all mounted.

Yes, they are all mounted. Yes they are brand new never used. When I first started stamping I bought everything that tickled my fancy and guess what? When I started my own stamp company of course all my other stamps went to the back burner. So as I purged my scrap studio I decided to gift them away to others. Now don't get me wrong, I did keep 10 art bins full of rubber stamps from other companies lol. I guess I didn't purge much huh? Anywho I decided to make someone very happy.

Hello All,

I've been busy busy working on cards. I don't know what happens to me but I get a burst of creative energy and I color and put together a ton of cards. You know then I hoard them lol. I don't know what it is about me that has me hold on to scraps (and I mean slivers of paper) and all the cards I make.

Just recently I started to give them away to friends and family. Eventually we will add a page to sell handmade items hopefully and I can put them there. I make too many to give away. I need to make some money off these bad boys lol.

So we are launching our new store stamps. They are slowly being added to the store. Our design teams (both promo and regular teams) are working on samples and posting regularly to their blogs so you will be able to see tons more projects and get good inspiration to use these stamps.

Yesterday began our wedding week. I forgot to mention it here. Hey I have too many blogs what can I say? LOL.

Anyway, we are interviewing a couture wedding designer that has a new do it yourself product and showcasing a few new images we will have available after the site redesign.

Here is my version of Fiona our bridal portrait:

I chose really bold colors because my Aunt is trying to decide if these colors will work for her invites. I love the colors together.

For this card I added sheer ribbon to the veil and some bling. What bride wouldn't want bling?

For my project I decided to really think outside the box. I created a Loveopoly game. I actually made a board and cards and pieces lol. I must confess, my sister helped me with the cards and let's just say this game turned out to be for those over the age of 18. *BLUSH*

How the game works- It's simple, you roll the dice and move the number of spaces it tells you. You pick a card from the stack and you do what it says. I must warn you my husband LOVED this game but he cheated. He only wanted to do the fun stuff. Not any of the stuff like housework ROFLOL. So make sure your spouse don't cheat.

It's so fun...but I doubt you will be able to get passed 3 dice rolls LOL. Since this is a pg blog, I won't go into the details, but the categories turned out fun.

If you want me to tell you how I made it and the Love Note Topics email me and I will fill you in. However you must not be the blushing type cause some of those notes are spicy lol.

InStyle Stamps is currently searching for 7 new designers for a new term to begin March 1st – August 31st, 2010.

We are interested in fresh, funky, out of the box designs. We are looking for out of the box cards and projects. Our designers should have great coloring technique and photography skills. You should be able to post regularly on your blog or website and talk up our product. You do not have to have been on previous design teams.

If you fit that mold, please apply for one of our special team positions.

How to apply:

Send InStyle Stamps an email at instylestampsdt@yahoo.com with New Designer in the subject field no later than February 15th. Please include 1 card and 1 non-card project that showcase your best coloring abilities. We will contact you within 48 hours with the next details on how to proceed with the application process.

Along with your email please include the following information:

1. Name

2. Mailing Address

3. Phone number

4. Email Address

5. A List of your present/past design team positions. Note: You will be considered even if you do not have design team experience.

6. A link to your blog and gallery on SCS, PCP, or any place else you like to hang out.

7. A brief “about me” summary to include; interests, crafting history, etc. Whatever you would like us to know about you and your experience.

Because you will need to share your InStyle Stamps creations, you are required to have a well-maintained blog for posting your artwork and any information concerning InStyle Stamps. Ability to photograph and post your creations is a must.

InStyle Stamps designers are required to create 6 projects per month. These projects are as follows:

*CAS due on the 2nd of the month

*Color Challenge due on the 2nd Saturday of each month

*Method Monday –a tutorial created by you. You will be required to create 2 of these projects during your term.

*Over the Hump Blog Candy Give-a-way- this happens either the 2nd or 3rd Wednesday of the month

*Blog Hop Friday- occurs the last Friday of the month

*Wednesday Challenge- Every Wednesday excluding the OHBCGA week.

There will be times when you will only have 5 projects for the month. At that time you will create an additional Wednesday Challenge.

Back From CHA!

Hello Hello!

I had a good time at CHA. I attended the Consumer show one day and CHA Tradeshow the next and I'm pooped.

I have a lot to share and some pics so I'm sure you will like that.

This year I was able to convince my hubby to come with me so that I can get some ideas for my booth in Chicago later this year and he actually was happy to help. So he played camera man. :)

One thing I noticed about myself is that I am label loyal. Really I only cared about a few brands that I absolutely love and can't live without. And so once I made my loyal rounds to those booths, I did a little site-seeing with new stuff.

In order to be successful at CHA as a new exhibitor you only have a split second to gain the attention of people. That means your booth must draw people in. Sadly there were a lot of booths I didn't go to because to be honest they looked like a lot of run of the mill booths. And so if I didn't see anything that caught my eye enough to take a picture, I didn't spend much time looking, but did grab a catalog. I do realize that some people don't understand that attention grabbing concept and so I was willing to give them another chance by grabbing their catalog. Hopefully they can wow me with that. :)

My favorite this year was Provo Craft's Cricut Cake. Ok let me tell you first that I was on the Cricut Expressions Bandwagon for a while. I got an excellent deal (better than wholesale) at Walmart no less (when I shopped there) and once I was able to purchase wholesale I had about 30 cartridges. I didn't like everything I had to do to work the darn thing and so I ended up selling it. The person that bought it off me was so stoked about it. She sends me cards she makes every now and then. Too cool. And so when I walked by Provo Craft I immediately head for the Cuttlebug section to see what new folders they have come out with. But this year I was caught off guard.

It's simply scrumptious. I've taken Wilton Cake classes and to be honest cake decorating is a lot of work. And especially working with gum paste and fondant. While I got all the way to the 3rd course (and I still didn't master those dang roses lol) I don't do cakes to that magnitude lol...nope not at all. I love fondant. Well I love the idea of fondant and so when I saw this machine...I was in heaven.

So I sat through the demo

And I even did the Cake and take (cupcake)

Since it's wrapped so cutely here is what I made:

The only difference with mine is that I chose chocolate frosting. They gave out these cute little chef's hat. But me and hat's don't get along sorry no pic lol.

So after I drooled over the machine that I will be getting shortly lol...I moved on to the cuttlebug. They have this cute new model (does the same thing as the old one except it has a butterfly design on it and comes in another color) I wasn't impressed. Why? Because they still haven't come out with a 12x12 model. Hello????? Even Big Shot did that and I absolutely love my big shot especially for sewing projects:

As I saw the demo and punched a few cards, let's just say if I hadn't been shoo'ed off my by husband I would have bought most if not all of the new designs. So cute, I was even thinking about carrying them.

I also got to see up close and personal the new Spellbinder dies. I was able to snap a few shots, but then had to show other images because some came out blurry...ahem blame my husband lol...new camera and all LOL.

Oh my has it really been that long since I've posted last? Wow, and I thought I was up on things. I apologize for my bad blogger habits. With 3 other blogs to keep going and 2 facebook accounts, it's a lot of writing lol.

Anywho I hope you had a Happy Holidays and a great start to the New Year! I stopped making New Year's resolutions a long time ago because honestly I never kept them and would feel awful for it. So now I just make a yearly goal list and check off those things I complete. At least this way I'm using the whole year to remind myself of the things I'd like to accomplish or change.

High on my list this year is doing my part for the environment and community. InStyle Stamps is going to be announcing a new part of the website in March and I am bursting at the seams to spill the beans. So before I do, I will hop onto other news...BLOG CANDY! YAY!

Before I opened up my own stamp company I use to be a demo for Stampin Up! And boy do I have a lot of stamps left. So I thought it would be fun to give away a few random stamps that were never used. I was a bad craft person when I first began crafting. I would take EVERYTHING out of the packaging so I can see it all and use it all (so I thought). All I did in the end was create a huge mess.

With that said, all of the stamps were mounted, however they were taken out of the containers so I have no idea what goes with what lol. That is why you will be getting random stamps. So every so often I will have photo's of them for blog candy. At least that way you will be able to see what is included.

Monday is going to be a fun day. Not only did I finish 2 cards over the weekend, but I got a cute little give-a-way. :) The cutest digital image you ever did lay your eyes on.

I made up a card with her. She is a twirling fairy and will be released in the store this month. But I'm going to give her way to followers on my blog.

Isn't she adorable? She was going to be a stamp. In fact she went into production and there was a mistake with her so she was not able to be sold. I haven't put her on the site yet, but I will next week. Only as a digital image though. :)

Our theme for this mont's blog hop is Ornaments. I decided to make you drool and sneak peek one of our images that will be available in the store on December 1st. She is our resident praying angel.

Isn't she cute. She is a digi. I embossed her and cut her out. I then colored the rest of her with copics and voila...my praying angel for our tree this year. I'm sorry the photo quality isn't great. I tried 3 times to take a better picture blech.

Happy Monday!

I need to think of some more greetings. Aren’t you a little tired of the same ol’ same ol’?

Today over on the ISS blog we have a great Method Monday Tutorial. We also have some great articles on What digital stamps are and how to print them. Make sure you check them out.

I have been working on my project for a few weeks now. It took me a long time to color them because I wanted to make sure I did a good job. I love the way they came out.

Initially I was going to create some wall art with them, but I decided to turn them into cards. I want to try to sell some so we will see how they do.

I used Mykai. I paper pieced her with 3 separate papers, colored her with copics and add some rub on’s. I think they came out cute. Mykai is fabulous. These cards are sized 5x7 because I wanted to make sure Mykai’s eyes were very visible when colored so I made her a little bigger.

And for a special treat I have to show off my great niece Alyjanae(pronounced Elijahnay in case you were wondering.) She is the most adorable little girl. I'm going to turn her into an anime.

I call her Ms. Kerri Baby. If you know who Keri Hilson is for some reason Nae Nae, as we call her, reminds me of her. LOL. Nae Nae's hair is adorable. Bald on the sides and full on top and wavy. Her grandma had the exact same hair when she was born. And those ears are definitely from her mother cause everyone on the paternal side has small ones lol.

Well there you have it for this glorious Monday. I think tomorrow I will have some blog candy. I've been so busy I haven't been able to figure out what I want to offer. Yeah I have that much stuff. So if not tomorrow definitely before the end of the week.

I hope you had a great weekend. I sure did. Spent some wonderful time with the family, was able to create a few projects and cleaned and organized the scraproom again. :)

On a sour note, my sewing machine is shot and it is going to cost too much to fix it so I'm in the market for a new one. I do mainly craft sewing but I will be making more purses and such. I'm thinking about getting a Janome. They say they have metal parts and can be cheaper in repairs. My Viking has plastic parts. Can you believe such a good name is made so cheaply? Maybe not all Viking's but mine was blech!

Over the Hump Day Blog Candy Give-A-Way

This hump day is special to me because it is also Veteran’s Day. My husband is in the Marine Corps reserves. He served over 6 years active duty. He has about 11 years total so far. He was in Iraq in 2007 and is going to Afghanistan soon. We don’t know the exact date but it is imminent. Yesterday was the Marine Corps birthday. I personally think we should honor and thank our service people year round not just on particular days, but hey, that's just me.

I am so proud of my hubby. When he was in Iraq, we had a very close family member pass away and it was very hard on him being so far away from us all especially during that very stressful time. I know there are a lot of service members that experience far worse than what he did. It is truly a sacrifice to serve our nation and be the defenders of our freedom. For that, I truly thank every man and woman that has enlisted to protect our country. Some may not agree with war. Some may not think the military is important. Whatever your opinion or mindset is, you are entitled to it. But we should still respect and be thankful for those that do serve. Happy Veteran’s Day!!!

And now on to the craft stuff. :)

Hello All,

Happy Tuesday. I made a rag quilted purse and I was so pleased with how it came out. I'm working on 2 more. 1 of them is with one of our anime images. I just finished printing and coloring the image. I am not working on cutting the fabric. I hope it comes out just as nice.

Although it is very time consuming (probably will get faster once I get the hang of making them) but the results are so rewarding. I used it for the first time today and got a lot of compliments on the color choices and someone even asked me where I bought it. LOL...can't wait to see what they think of the one with one of the images.

Hope you had a good Friday. I did. Just got back from seeing the movie Precious. It was very very good. A must see, but bring your Kleenex. :)

2ndly...no one guessed what I used on the bottom of my project...it was a grated sponge and then I added copic ink to. :)

3rdly, I will be having blog candy this coming Monday. I'm swamped for the rest of the weekend so that is when I will be able to post a new project. I finally broke down and bought a compressor and airbrush system so I'm experimenting.

Wednesday Challenge - Felt

I wanted to create something for the Wednesday Challenge. When I saw it was using felt...I was soo motivated. I have a ton of wool felt and regular felt and so the ideas started to flow. I finally thought...hmm I wonder if I could use the big shot flower dies and basket to make a project. Doesn't hurt to try right? And so I did.

In fact I sat up til 4 am trying to get this to come together. And it did!

It took forever to get the base of that darn basket to stick. I like the way it came out.

Club Anime CAS3

Well yesterday was the CAS3 challenge over on Club Anime. You have 1 month to come up with a cute project using the sketch provided by Melissa.

I paper pieced the candy bar with a paper called raw metal. It is so great cause it looks like foil. It is textured. I love it when I'm doing metal stuff.

You will never guess what the bottom of the image is. In fact, I'm so confident that you won't I'm going to offer the exclusive Club Anime digital image as a reward for the first person that guesses what it is.

Hello All,

Hope you are having a nice, happy Friday! I can't thank God enough for the weekend being here already. Trust me, I need it.

Anyway today is ISS Blog Hop Friday and our theme of the month is Setting the Table. I've created a project (if that's what you want to call it) for this special occasion. We are releasing 2 new fall images...Pilgrims in fact today...so check them out, they are on sale now!!!

I combined 2 projects into one. I created a Thanksgiving day table full of all the yummy trimmings.

I decided to use our Chicken/Turkey with potato's, casserole (which I turned into mac n cheese), a side dish and some scrumptious looking bread! I had the dardest time trying to scale this table down but that was as small as I could it. LOL...Oy Vey! You can't really make out the sentiment at the bottom of the table but it says You are cordially invited to a Thanksgiving Feast!

The second items I created to finish out the "theme" were these cute little table toppers. Our family has a tradition that we do each year. Everyone writes down a thought or prayer (and I mean everyone even the kids) and we place them in a basket. About 20 minutes before we begin to eat we sit down and each person pulls one out and reads it.

We began doing this after a family member passed away a few years ago. It has really brought our family closer together.

So I created little boxes this year that will hold our thoughts and prayers. I will just remove the flowers and fill them with our little slips of paper that everyone will write on. I also add a few scriptures too.

Totally makes our Thanksgiving a time to truly giving thanks. Not just for the food, but for those we love and care about as well. You should try it.

My family likes it because sometimes they don't know what to say and this way they can just read off the slip and then add to it if they want.

I haven't posted in a while nor have I posted a Blog Candy. Please forgive me. I've been swamped with work, the website and finally finishing up the total move of the office. So I'm all done with that.

I now have to finish an order of 80 invites by Friday and I have done NOTHING. So as you can see procrastination is the culprit cause I keep putting it off. I will be posting a few more cards I've made but I still need to take a picture.

Finally!!!

So yesterday I know I was supposed to post this but trust me, I'm surprised I'm on here now. I had to do 3 invitation samples for a client and only got 2 done by 3 am. So that meant getting some sleep and then up and at em early this morning to finish up the 3rd design. The problem is all three are not in her price range I'm thinking and so she will probably have to go with a store bought invitation and not a custom one. I really hope not, but I out did myself and even came up with 2 fabric invite samples. Don't ask me how I did it but I did lol. The 3rd is a paper pieced lovely that will take me about 90 hours to assemble 100 of them and color them each so that is why I'm saying she probably can't afford them. Oh well...lol.
